Sends text messages to mobile devices

Answer by Sean Hill

If you cannot access your account it probably means it has been discontinued for inactivity but I highly doubt this happened. There is also a chance you've completely forgotten the password. However, to recover it visit the reset password page and enter your phone number then a new password will be issued to you.

I'm a Chikka version 5 user for many years. I entered my mobile phone number for version 6 many times, but it keeps on saying invalid number. How can I connect to new version of Chikka?

Answer by Leonard Moore

In order to connect to the new version of Chikka, it's advised to visit the official website of the developer. Form there, you need to access the client area, enter your user name and password, and download the new version from there. This might be the reason why your phone number isn't recognized and you can't connect to the new version. It's advised to always download and use programs that you acquire from official sources.

Is it possible for my buddy to receive text messages from my Chikka account even though I'm pretty sure that I did not sent any? I'm also sure that I'm the only one who knows my password.

Hi. As absurd as it may sound, the answer is YES! It happend to me a couple of months back. I got a furious call from my mom asking me what on earth i was thinking sending her a curse message. When i got home she showed me 'd msg and it was my Chikka number. The big mystery back thn was I never sent her that message bcoz i'm no longer usingchikka that tym and never in my wildest dreams that i'll tell profanity against my mom. And oh boy! I had a hard tym convincing her it never came from me.

If you use the version 5.0 or 6.0 go to My Chikka > My Account > and click Show Message Log. If you use version 4.0 or below go to Options > Message History.

I cannot send text messages and receive from my recipient because it always shows failed notice.

Answer by Stephen Prastman

The failure related to the message sending is directly influenced by the Internet activity/connection. The only thing you need to check is if you are connected to Internet or not. Try switching from wireless to data connection and backwards.

If you have errors with the application, make sure to download a new version from the website. It's likely possible that you are using a version that isn't supported anymore. Visit the website and log-in with your phone number then you will have the possibility to download the newly updated client.

You can't launch the application because either it is not compatible with your system or some of its files are corrupted. In order to fix the problem, uninstall the program using its uninstaller from the application directory or Add or Remove Programs feature (Control Panel > Uninstall a program) and download and install the latest version of the software. Also, make sure your security program doesn't block the connection and go to Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall > Allow a program through Windows Firewall and check the box next to Chikka TXT Messenger. If you can't find the software in the Allowed programs and features window, press the Allow another program button, navigate to the installation directory, select the executable file and press Add.
